Hi, I’m Melanie, 33 years young, born in sunny San Diego and raised in the beauty that is Southern Oregon. I currently reside in Grants Pass, OR with my handsome husband of  13 years,  our four rambunctious boys, and our two precious little princesses.  

 

Photography has been a big part of my life ever since I can remember. I grew up incredibly close to my Papa (My mother's father) who was a photographer in the Navy before becoming a Wedding Photographer for many years after. I am forever thankful and blessed to have so many wonderful images of myself growing up, as well as priceless videos (made by yours truly)  with my papa's old school VHS recorder. 

 

As a kid and teen, I was always carrying around a disposable camera, directing my friends and family how to pose, or telling them to act a certain way for a picture. It has always been a passion of mine to come up with an idea in my head, produce it, and see the final product come out exactly as I imagined. 

 

I like to think the desire to be creative runs in my family. It seems we all have a unique artistic eye. Whether it be for Home/Wedding Design (My mother), Wedding Disc Jockey (My Father), or Wedding Photography (My Papa). The drive to be doing something creative runs proud and deep in my blood. It has been a dream of mine to start a photography business for a long time now. To know in my heart that I am carrying on my papa's photography legacy in our family means the world to me. 

 

In my photography style, I pride myself on capturing the feeling or emotion in a picture. I love when I can look at an image and understand how a person was feeling at that moment in time. Time is so precious, and as a mama of six, I know how fast the time passes. I feel so honored to be able to help freeze time for a bit by capturing these precious, once in a lifetime, moments. I believe that I have always been a very empathetic person in general, and have an easy time seeing what people are feeling. This helps me to bring that emotion through in my photography. 

 

I am currently growing my business and talents by focusing on whatever my clients are needing. Updated family pictures, maternity, self-portraits, kids, babies, fur babies, lifestyle, weddings, or anything else your heart desires. If you can think it, I will capture it. I want to be able to work closely with my clients to give them a more personalized experience and understand as much as possible before the shoot what their vision is for their images. 

 

I am very patient and consider myself to be an excellent listener. I love kids, and being a mom of three special needs kids, I am very understanding when a kiddo may not be in the mood for pictures. I also have a few tricks up my sleeve to help change their moods in case of those (perfectly normal) bad days. Customer service and customer experience will always be my #1 priority. As much as I love bringing my own visions to life through my lens, it brings me even greater joy to know I made someone else's vision come true.
